The Cannes International Fireworks Festival
Every summer, Cannes Bay is transformed into one of the French Riviera’s most spectacular open-air theatres during the Cannes International Fireworks Festival. From July to August, a series of magical evenings lights up the Cannes skyline with breathtaking displays combining fireworks, music, visual effects, and choreographed performances over the sea.
In 2026, the festival will take place from 4 July to 24 August, with six spectacular displays scheduled on 4 July, 14 July, 22 July, 4 August, 15 August, and 24 August 2026. The fireworks generally begin at 10:00 p.m., except for the 14 July display, which is scheduled to start at 11:00 p.m.
More than just a fireworks display, this is a true international competition bringing together some of the world's finest pyrotechnic companies. Each team presents an original creation, perfectly synchronized to a musical soundtrack, before thousands of spectators gathered along La Croisette, on the beaches, and on the hills overlooking Cannes.
This event is one of the most popular highlights of the summer season in Cannes. Every year, it attracts huge crowds and offers a spectacular show in the exceptional setting of Cannes Bay, between the Lérins Islands, La Croisette, and Le Suquet.

A Helpful Tip:
If you would like to attend one of the many fireworks displays held along the French Riviera during the summer, a little planning will help you make the most of the experience.
These events are extremely popular, attracting thousands of spectators every year. As a result, heavy traffic and limited parking are common before and after the shows.
The best option is to arrive in your chosen town in the late afternoon. This gives you plenty of time to stroll around, explore the area, enjoy dinner on a terrace or a drink by the sea, and choose a great spot to watch the fireworks.
Once the display is over, don't rush back to your car. Instead, take the opportunity to extend your evening by wandering through the lively streets, enjoying an artisan ice cream, or relaxing for a while at a café terrace. The atmosphere is often particularly pleasant after the festivities.
By leaving about an hour later, you will avoid the heavy traffic that usually builds up as everyone leaves at the same time, allowing you to end your evening in a much more relaxed way.
Have a wonderful evening! ✨
